Three schools: Germany, Bulgaria and Hungary

Coordinating school:

Nell-Breuning-Berufskolleg, Frechen, Germany

The Nell-Breuning vocational college, with more than 2000 students and around 100 teachers, is a commercial school for business and administration in the hands of the funding body of the Rhein-ErftKreis, NWR in Germany. In addition to various branches of the dual vocational training (banking, wholesale and foreign trade, office, retailing, warehouse), it offers a full-time course Commercial School, Higher Commercial School and Business High School. The last two educational programs, from which the participants of the program come from, offer foreign language profile classes. Overall, there is a strong focus on Europe hence the certification as a European School in NRW made in
summer of 2015. All schools in NRW are subject to a quality analysis. For several years, the NBB has been sending students from Germany into internships. Likewise, it acts as a receiving institution for years and arranges or supports students of its partner schools in France and Spain during their internships in the Cologne area. The key people involved in the NBB are English and Spanish teachers with many years of experience in European mobility programs, which - in addition to the non-existent language barrier - contributes to special intercultural competence and perception and guarantees a special sense for the problems dealt with in the project. Colleagues from the area of
Business and Informatics who are jointly responsible for securing and disseminating the project results, as well as the technical support, have plenty of experience in the design or maintenance of various homepages and the necessary use of all the technical hardware.

2. Budapesti Gazdasági Szakképzési Centrum Békésy György Szakgimnáziuma és Szakközépiskolája, Budapest, Hungary

The school started its operation as a Post Office Vocational School in the 1988-89. school year. The vocational training has changed during the years; recently we have two main educational lines, the trading and the management specialization. We start the third main line from the 2016-17. school year, which is tourism. We have 345 pupils, 36 pedagogues and 14 educational assistants. Two thirds of our students are local citizens, one-third come from the agglomeration. The legal aspects of our educational requirements are based on the recent public and vocational educational laws, on children's rights and on the national educational framework. Our inner institutional norms are regulated by our organisational policy. According to this regulation the school is a working place most of all, and in this status it is also available for communal activities. We are proud of maintaining such an innovative school system which is able to transfer up-to-date knowledge, based on traditional European cultural values and defaults. The long-termed goal of the school is to form talent-based education. There are more and more new approaches in teaching methods, examination and competence measuring. Teachers are engaged with quality assurance development, including acquiring key knowledge, skills and competence. The school with its large open indoor places, and with a glass dome community hall with lots of green plants has the feeling of a Mediterranean building. Even the school and school garden view show the importance of the built environment and the philosophy behind it, having 2 main priorities which permeate all educational and communal activities there: 1.) The use of information technology in the classroom improves the digital literacy and affects the didactic methods and encourages innovation in approaches and methods of teaching and learning in all subjects. 2.) We raise awareness on the sensitization towards sustainability and environmental issues, parallel to being enthusiastic also in social issues. We lay special focus on developing tolerance and responsible attitude to protect the environment; making an understanding on the links between our personal well-being and the state and health of the environment. Last year the school got the "National EverEco-School" award. The motivation of joining the project is laid down in the description above. We would like to assure a modern, open-minded educational atmosphere using digital technology, promoting a larger, international horizon for our students, integrating transnational partnership contacts and activities into the educational process.
